Islay Seasonwatch
is a photographic celebration of
Islay Queen of the Hebrides
wealth of wildlife and habitats,
embracing
the ever changing Hebridean qualities of light
cast over stunningly beautiful
and evocative landscapes.
Islay’s landscape has evolved from centuries of management by
man resulting in an evolving seasonally changing mosaic of:
arable and pasture farmland, moorland, rocky hilltops, blanket bogs, lochans, ancient woodlands, sand dunes, saltmarsh, sandy beaches, sea cliffs and sealochs.
Exceptional wildlife encounters are possible at any time of the year and could include:
Barnacle and Greenland Whitefront Geese, Choughs, Corncrakes,
Marsh Fritillary Butterflies, Seals, Wild Goats, Red, Roe and Fallow Deer,
Otters and Dolphins.
Islay is truely an island for all Seasons !
Islay Seasonwatch is the first in a series of wildlife and landscape images for Islay
capturing wildlife encounters during the ever changing seasons.
Many images are taken on locations as featured in
BBC Springwatch 2007.
